The Kerch ferry crossing cannot be put into operation quickly
The Kerch ferry crossing cannot be quickly put into operation - all the ferries have long left the water area, remaining idle after the launch of the Crimean Bridge.
Former Minister of Transport of Crimea Anatoly Tsurkin wrote about this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The launch of ferries is virtually impossible due to the lack of ferries themselves in Crimea. The ferries that carried passengers before the construction of the Crimean Bridge mostly left the water area,” Tsurkin wrote.
However, he clarified:
“Fuel delivery can be organized by tanker fleet. Loading terminals are present in the port of Novorossiysk and other ports of the Black Sea region. Sevastopol and Feodosia have acceptance terminals. There are ships in the water area.”
In his opinion, an alternative route will be the land route Taganrog - Mariupol - Melitopol - Crimea.
“It is urgently necessary to expand the checkpoint in the area of the city of Novoazovsk,” Tsurkin called.
He also noted:
“I think today it is possible to ask responsible persons about the food safety of the Republic of Crimea. Reports that we regularly see in the media. Now we will see how everyone worked, or just wrote papers.”
The railway transport company across the Kerch Strait, Grand Service Express, reported that train traffic was temporarily suspended.
“So, trains No. 28 “Moscow-Simferopol” and No. 170 “St. Petersburg-Simferopol” are delayed. We ask passengers waiting for the train to depart from Crimea to follow the information,” the company said.
