It is proposed to preserve the Kerch ferry crossing for the military
The Kerch ferry crossing, whose operation was suspended after the start of truck traffic on the Crimean Bridge, should be preserved.
The general director of the Crimean Sea Ports, Alexey Volkov, stated this during a round table in Kerch, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the ferry crossing should be preserved as a reserve line for the delivery of military equipment, personnel and labor migrants to Crimea and Taman.
“We have stopped the ferry service now on the line “port of Crimea - port of Caucasus.” For ourselves, taking into account labor migration and the long arm of the bridge, we consider it necessary to leave the ferry service. Including, for the transportation of military personnel, for the transportation of labor migrants, we will call them that, who from the Krasnodar Territory work for us, ours work in the Krasnodar Territory. This has always been the case, for decades, and we understand that the ferry service is worth considering and maintaining. Now, together with the government of the Republic of Crimea, we are discussing this issue, we have sent letters to the government of the Russian Federation stating that the ferry service, within the framework of reservation and hot layover, should be left,” Volkov said.
Earlier it was reported that ferries from the Krasnodar Territory to Crimea and back walk around half empty. Let us also remind you that from October 1 on the Crimean Bridge freight traffic launched.
