The head of the Ministry of Transport of Crimea, Andrei Bezsalov, told reporters about this on Friday.
“We must honestly say that the reconstruction plans that were discussed last year have been thwarted,” the minister said.
According to him, due to non-fulfillment of work, the activities are now being carried out in 2 stages.
“Emergency - such as installation of floating berths, emergency clearing of the territory, supply of electricity, generators. And in parallel, we are working to create regular sources of energy supply, repair regular berths, and so on,” Bezsalov quotes "Kryminform".
According to the minister's forecast, preparation of the crossing for the holiday season will be completed by the end of April. So far, for the first time, ferries have begun to operate strictly according to schedule:
“Today our colleagues from St. Petersburg landed there, the first thing we managed to achieve was organizing the rhythm of the ferries, that is, simply adhering to the schedule. The line of cars began to decrease before our eyes,” said Bezsalov.
The minister also commented on the level of management of the crossing:
“In less than a year of operation of the Maritime Directorate, several managers and several teams of specialists have changed there. The situation there today is terrible. I have to work manually every day. I spend half a day only on the ferry crossing,” Andrey Bezsalov emphasized.
