Kernes canceled all events for Kharkov Day
Kharkov, August 20 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Kharkov Mayor Gennady Kernes canceled all events for City Day, which is traditionally celebrated on August 23.

“Unfortunately, this year, this dear day for Kharkiv residents is overshadowed by events in neighboring regions. There are battles and people are dying. It would be wrong to celebrate City Day in these tragic and fateful days for Ukraine,” says the mayor’s address to the residents of Kharkov, posted on the official website of the Kharkov City Council.
As Navigator reported, earlier pro-Ukrainian activists accused Kernes that he was preparing to declare the Kharkov People's Republic on August 23.
