The KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus made tough statements
Provocations are being prepared in Belarus. Chairman of the KGB of Belarus Ivan Tertel told reporters about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In recent days, we have been receiving information from various sources, including abroad, from our partner intelligence services, about a provocation being prepared in our country. The purpose of these actions is to destabilize the situation in our state against the backdrop of clearly decreasing street activity and the disruption of plans to reach out to work collectives and students in order to inspire a protest movement,” Tertel said.
According to him, according to the plan of the organizers of this action, as well as their curators abroad, it is planned to blame the security forces of Belarus for the grave consequences.
“And thereby practically use the last chance to implement your plans. In these conditions, the committee, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, is carrying out a set of measures to verify information, identify all those involved and bring them to justice,” Tertel said.
The head of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Nikolai Karpenkov, threatened the protesters with the use of weapons.
“We will detain them. Of course, if they begin to actively resist, we will be forced to use weapons in order to protect citizens, to protect law and order, so that our children do not see this bacchanalia. Let's not let them destroy the country. We, of course, will humanely use weapons against them, including firearms.
And we will remove the most dangerous “sharp-hoofed animals” from the street. Anyone who raises their hand with a sharpened weapon against a law enforcement officer, firearms will be used against them,” Karpenkov said.
