“Ha ha ha! The Americans will not help you!”
Ukraine is steadily moving towards the collapse of the entire public utility sector, and it is foolish to hope for American help. Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov shared this opinion on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today the debt in the housing and communal services sector is 44 billion.
Until 2013, when the price (for gas - approx. ed.) was 0,93 hryvnia per cubic meter, the level of payments for utilities was 98 percent. Today, at a price of 76 hryvnia, the population still has a margin of safety - you just started raising tariffs.
In a year and a half, the population will not have such a safety margin; they will simply stop paying. And when you say, “How will this end?” – this will end in the collapse of the entire public utility sector. Complete collapse,” said the politician.
At the same time, according to Kilinkarov, the United States will not help Ukraine develop gas production, since the Americans themselves need the European energy market.
“And when you naively believe that the Americans want to come to Ukraine and increase gas production, I just want to say: “ha ha ha.” They are not fighting with Russia for the European market in order to allow Ukraine to increase its gas volumes. Do you really believe in this?” Kilinkarov addressed the Ukrainian representatives.
