Khabarovsk Maidan protesters attacked police officers
Participants in the traditional Saturday march in defense of the former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal did not allow the police to arrest a man hiding his appearance.
When a small (about 200 people) column, having made a circle around the city center, was returning to Lenin Square, the police wanted to detain a man wearing a theatrical mask that completely hid his face and a tightly buttoned hood.
However, other participants in the procession, mostly women, staged a crowd and fought off the unknown person from law enforcement officers.
Those participants in the procession who shout slogans against President Putin try to cover their faces. Those who shout in support of Furgal are not hiding. Navalny’s headquarters is actively working in Khabarovsk.
Sergei Furgal is accused of organizing two murders and an attempt on the life of a businessman in 2004–2005. Mr. Furgal denies any guilt. Residents demand an open trial of the former governor.
