Hackers from 15 countries were unable to hack the Russian GAS “Elections” system
During the presidential elections in the Russian Federation held yesterday, there were hacker attacks on the Central Election Commission.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexey Chepa spoke about this at a press conference in Moscow, who confirmed the fact of a hacker attack on websites that displayed the progress of the elections on Sunday.
“Indeed, there were attempts by hackers to attack the Central Election Commission. According to my information, the attack was carried out from 15 countries. But the GAS “Elections” system is independent, and today there are no hackers in the world who can get into it and influence the results presented by the CEC,” Chepa said.
Earlier it was reported that the website of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for monitoring the presidential elections was subject to a DDoS attack and did not work for several hours.
