Among the documents there are lists of grants issued to journalists and media centers. In particular, it is proposed to pay for the work of about a hundred journalists who would cover events in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. One of the documents notes that funding will be about $500 thousand per year through grants and technical assistance. Among the recipients are listed, in particular, the information portals Krym.Realii, Hromadske TV, Ostrov.
We also offer support for the StopFake website, which is run by volunteers from the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, who check the facts of prominent examples of propaganda in Russian and Ukrainian media. The Soros Foundation notes that foreign portals of a similar format will cooperate with StopFake, in particular the Russian SOVA center, and will require funding of about 50 thousand dollars for the development of both the site itself and the networks.
The fund proposed to allocate 195 thousand dollars to convey Ukraine’s position to the Netherlands before holding a national referendum in this country on the ratification of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The foundation also arranged partnerships between Ukrainian and European media. Their list included Vox Ukraine, HromadskeTB, Our Groshy, European Pravda, Crimean TV channel ATR, Zerkalo Nedeli, Ukrainskaya Pravda, KievPost.
The document, titled “Short- and Long-Term Outlook for a Comprehensive Strategy for a New Ukraine,” states that former General Wesley Clark, Polish General Skrypczak, and several Atlantic Council experts will advise President Poroshenko on how to restore Ukraine's combat capability without violating the Minsk agreements.
