Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov will personally bear responsibility for the failed vaccination, because while the country is suffering from Covid, he buys himself clothes for tens of thousands of dollars.
A deputy from the ruling party, Geo Leros, told the government about this during the hour of questions in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"First of all, after speeches by the President of the Republic of Lithuania It seemed to me that he was a greater patriot of Ukraine than the entire staff of the office of the President of Ukraine. Secondly, I have a question for Mr. Stepanov. You appealed to representatives of the EU and Golos factions that they are spreading fake news. You personify a walking fake.
You will also be personally responsible for a critical situation related to the pandemic. And I have a question for you, within your competence - when Ukrainians were dying in the hundreds, two weeks ago you bought yourself a jacket for 620 thousand hryvnia. And I have a question for you: are you warm in it or not?” – asked the deputy.
In response to this, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov accused the deputy of rudeness and said that Geo Leros himself was spreading fake news about a low-quality Indian vaccine.
“I understand that rudeness is inherent in you, but this is your personal, and I definitely shouldn’t respond to it. Regarding other things about fakes, I think that the wise Ukrainian people understand exactly where the fakes are, which you also spread, and where the truth is.
The only thing I ask is that the number of your fakes and myths that you spread, including about vaccination, about the fight against Covid, think that the lives of specific people who often do not get vaccinated depend on this because of the absurdity that you spread. Don’t do this,” Stepanov replied.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they admitted that Ukrainians stopped trusting vaccines, and the authorities’ attempts to promote themselves on vaccinations only increased distrust in the authorities themselves.
