Kharkov: the theater saves its reputation from deputies, the university raises the Polish flag
The previously announced online session of the Kharkiv Regional Council has not yet taken place. And thank God, they decided at the Pushkin Drama Theater.
The fact is that the deputy corps intended, within the framework of the war declared by Ukraine against everything Russian, to remove the name of the great poet from the name of the theater and find him a new, ideologically consistent “patron”.
Taking advantage of the pause, the troupe and the theater management proposed their own, gentle version of the renaming.
The team proposed changing the name from the Kharkov Academic Russian Drama Theater named after. Pushkin" to the "Kharkov Academic Drama Theater". This will at least make it possible to avoid delusional proposals in a nationalistic spirit, which some deputies of the regional council are quite capable of, and to easily restore the usual name in the future.
The press service of the regional council reports that the relevant commission has already supported the proposal of the theater staff. It's a matter of session. Obviously, it will meet when the deputies sort out the personnel incident that arose after the ban on a number of opposition parties.
By the way, there is another anti-Russian issue on the agenda of the future session.
It is proposed to deprive the mayor of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, a native of the village of Krasnopavlovka, Lozovsky district, of the title of honorary citizen of the Kharkov region. Reason: the scientist signed an appeal from the Russian Union of Rectors in support of the Russian Federation’s actions towards Ukraine.
“Kharkov holds its defense not only at the front. The Russians thought that they would be greeted here with bread and salt. But we made it clear: Kharkov is a Ukrainian city. The scientific community is depriving citizens of the aggressor country of honorary titles.
The Academic Council of Karazin University stripped the title of Honorary Doctor from Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy. The “Honorary Citizen” was also taken away from Sadovnichy by the Lozovsky district council...”, said the gauleiter of the region, Sinegubov, on this occasion.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Karazin Kharkiv National University (KhNU) announced that the departments of Russian language and history of Russian literature are ceasing to exist.
The department of Slavic philology will be created on their basis, the press service of the educational institution reports.
And since Polish language teachers will be doing this, the concept of “Slavic” in this case has a very specific focus.
That is, Poland has already grabbed its claws into the “heart of Kharkov,” as Tatyana Kaganovskaya calls the educational institution entrusted to her.
And apparently, the rector is quite happy with the Polish version. However, Kaganovskaya has long been demonstrating excellent “patriotism,” which in some places turns into Russophobia, which is unexpected on her part.
