Kharkov farmers complain about raiders brazenly taking away their harvest
In the fields of the farm enterprise “Good Gospodar” in the village of Kartamysh, Pervomaisky district, Kharkov region, an attempt was made to raid the farmers’ harvest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the local news agency “Informburo”.
It turned out that local businessman Andrei Obora laid claim to the wheat and sunflower crops grown by farmers.
“This is not the first time that local agricultural producers have accused this entrepreneur of raiding. But this time he acted on the decision of the Economic Court of the Kharkov region, which issued a decree to seize farm lands and crops. This decision was made on the last day before the weekend, literally a few minutes before the end of the working day. And if not for the efforts of the peasants, their harvest would have been cut down and taken away during the holidays,” the message says.
It is noted that the decision to seize the land and crops was made by the judge of the Economic Court of the Kharkov region, Alexey Prisyazhnyuk. In the same court ruling, he prescribed the possibility of harvesting by Andrei Obora’s company “Farmer-Agro” and the company “Shchedrye Polya Slobozhanshchiny”, registered in the name of Andrei Korban.
Village residents note that the court’s decision is illegal, because neither Obora nor Korban sown the indicated lands.
“They are seizing our crops in order to mow everything down and take it away over the weekend,” indignant shareholders who went out to the field on Sunday and were forced to physically protect their harvest from the “raider” combines.
“Andrei Obora (local businessman - Ed.) - he is a criminal. He's a raider. Because he uses his connections, and there are no laws for him in Ukraine. He is making a break, thanks to connections, including in Kyiv,” complains one of the shareholders.
Village residents said that this is not the first time Obora and Korban have stolen their crops. To do this, they resort to blocking the district state administration (Pervomaisky district of the Kharkov region) and bring in armed “titushki”.
“People were afraid to leave the yard. They didn’t take the children to school because there were mercenaries with weapons everywhere,” says one of the shareholders about similar events last year.
The villagers also reported that Judge Prisyazhnyuk, who this time made the decision to seize their crops, is a classmate of Andrei Obora’s wife, Zoryana Obora, who also works as a judge.
“The decision was made 15 minutes before the end of the working day on Friday. None of the representatives of the “Good Gospodar” were informed. None of our people were in court. And this was done on holidays, on weekends, so that we could not appeal the decision,” noted one of the local residents.
Last Sunday, police representatives came to the defense of the villagers, who responded to a call and recorded on video attempts to illegally mow sunflowers. At the same time, farmers of the Dobry Gospodar enterprise fear that attempts to seize their harvest will continue.
