According to the public relations department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkov region, the decision to use armored vehicles for patrolling was made to strengthen measures to protect public order.
“Special units of the Kharkiv region’s internal affairs bodies are equipped with such machines. Law enforcement officers use armored vehicles while serving at checkpoints, and from today they will be used to patrol the city,” the statement said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before in Kharkov an office and an ATM were shot with a grenade launcher.
