According to one of Aleksandrovskaya’s lawyers, Alexander Pasternak, the Kiev District Court of Kharkov made the corresponding decision on August 5, after hearing the defense’s petition.
According to Pasternak, the defense during today’s hearing requested that a number of documents be included in the case materials, and also asked that Aleksandrovskaya’s preventive measure be replaced with one not related to detention.
“The materials were added to the case. Regarding changing the preventive measure, they refused,” Pasternak said.
He noted that the court took into account the fact that at present an expert opinion on the possibility or impossibility of keeping Aleksandrovskaya in the pre-trial detention center is not yet ready. The lawyer added that, accordingly, in the opinion of the court, it has not yet been proven that the ex-deputy cannot be kept in a pre-trial detention center. According to Pasternak, at the end of August the ex-deputy’s defense will once again petition for the abolition of the preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of bail.
