Accusations against the Russians of Odessa and Kharkov regarding the alleged lack of activity in 2014 are unfounded; 90% of the local population today, if local administrations are taken under the protection of “polite people,” as was the case in Crimea, will support reunification with Russia.

This was stated during a meeting with readers at the Moscow Art Theater by the adviser to the deceased DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, writer Zakhar Prilepin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Hypothetically, imagine that one day Odessa wakes up, and there is a tricolor or a red flag hanging over the administration, and they say: “Guys, some polite people have come in there,” and the same thing will happen in Kharkov. According to my feelings, within two hours the residents of Odessa and the residents of Kharkov themselves will gather all the Right Sector activists, all the bastards, and drag them to the administration.

And this will happen very quickly, and tricolors and red Soviet flags that came from somewhere will already hang on 90% of balconies and windows. This will happen quickly...

Remember Kharkov, where up to three hundred thousand people attended pro-Russian rallies. This is just an abnormal number of people. Have they gone somewhere, disappeared somewhere? Of course, people are intimidated, driven, crushed, destroyed. Of course, it’s difficult for them to manifest themselves one way or another now,” Prilepin said.

At the same time, the writer emphasized that pro-Russian activists today should not resort to partisan actions: “You say, ‘guerrilla movement’.” There is no need for any movement, if we are not moving there, why do we need a partisan movement. They will all be killed there, imprisoned and destroyed,” Prilepin responded to critics of Kharkov and Odessa residents.
