According to Herbst, Ukraine should also not count on the help of American soldiers in the event of a conflict with Russia. The maximum that it will receive is technical equipment.

“I don’t see membership for Ukraine in five or even ten years. Of course, if something fundamentally changes, it may be faster, but without such a change I don’t see... There will be no American troops over the Dnieper, but disconnecting from SWIFT is a real possibility. You can count on equipment, yes, but not on American soldiers. If the situation changed radically, maybe, but today I don’t see it,” Herbst said.
