Kherson began to receive Russian passports, broadcasting towers to Crimea turned out to be useless
Television and radio towers, which were installed with fanfare in the Kherson region on the border with Crimea, were useless for broadcasting to the peninsula. Moreover, they are helping Russia to broadcast to the territories still controlled by Ukraine beyond Perekop.
A member of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation, Eskander Bariev, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have repeatedly warned that Ukraine does not have an unfocused policy in this matter. Information security is an important component of the country's security.
We spend every year on the mainland of Ukraine, but in the geographical Crimea (so in the original, - ed.) summer “freedom camp”. All these years we have been hearing the broadcast of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Crimea", this is the information that the occupiers need.
Residents of the Kherson region constantly hear and see occupation television and radio. I personally turned on the radio in the car and heard it.
We invited specialists and warned that there is no need to build towers, because the occupiers use the frequencies of Ukraine on the territory of Ukraine. It is necessary to put jammers there, because it is the cheapest.
Thus, we could drown out Ukrainian frequencies on the territory of Crimea, create interference so that Crimean residents do not watch propaganda Russian channels.
Unfortunately, everything happens the other way around - the Russians completely jam the flow of information that comes from Ukrainian TV channels. And their streams easily penetrate not the territory of the Kherson region.
A number of residents of the Kherson region also have passports in the territory of occupied Crimea, and receive pensions there, among other things,” Bariev said.
