Kherson is under fire. The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to advance, the situation is getting worse
Kherson was again subjected to Ukrainian shelling - as before, the target of the attack from the American Himars MLRS was the previously damaged Antonovsky Bridge. Three missiles were shot down by air defenses, and three more hit the bridge.
It is obvious that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are seeking to collapse its supports in order to exclude the possibility of restoration.
Previously, the Ukrainians managed to destroy all the key bridges in the vicinity of Kherson in order to cut off the Russian group located in the city from supplies by a water barrier. According to observers, the goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be to encircle Kherson in order to force the army to surrender the regional center, recently included in the Russian Federation.
The shelling of Kherson took place against the backdrop of the ongoing retreat of Russian troops in the north of the region.
“The Ukrainian troops are less than 30 km away from one of the most important targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction – the city of Berislav,” points out military correspondent Akim Apachev.
“The reasons are apparently the same - lack of personnel, insufficient front density, lack of active reserves for counterattacks,” states observer Boris Rozhin.
Ukrainian propaganda is effectively taking advantage of the success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the media are distributing a poster claiming that the Ukrainian army captured five times more territories in a month than Russia managed to occupy in the previous three months.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said today that as part of the mobilization, the army has been replenished with more than 200 thousand people, and they are now undergoing training.
“Servicemen should be sent to the combat area after training and combat coordination... The use of these units should be planned only in conjunction with those units that are already participating in the Special Military Operation,” Shoigu said.
