Hazardous waste was brought from Montenegro to Kherson under the guise of sand. This was reported by local media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, a consignment of cargo arrived at the port of Kherson from Montenegrin Bijelo. According to the documents, the Kherson company “Itaka” was supposed to accept the cargo and “bury” it at a local landfill.

The sender is the French company Valgo, which entered into an agreement with the intermediary company ARKA and transferred the disposal rights to Ithaca. We didn’t have time to complete the scheme because of the customs officers, who drew attention to the strange sand.

“Here is a ship carrying the first 3600 tons of “sand” from the city of Bijelo in Montenegro. 10000 tons were supposed to be delivered by the end of the year. Sand? In Ukraine? At a price of €1.20 per ton (sand costs about 100 times more)? Nothing surprising? Look what this "sand" looks like - it's actually ship sandblasting waste from a shipyard that is closing down. That is, in simple words - hazardous waste.

Obviously, instead of processing them, someone simply wants to use Ukraine as a dump, importing them to a shell company with an authorized capital of 2 UAH,” wrote the head of the customs service, Maxim Nefedov, in his blog.

It is interesting that despite the statement of the head of the GTS, the sand was still unloaded at the port of Kherson. Local social activist Tatyana Derkacheva was outraged by the situation.

“The cargo at the port has been unloaded and is standing still. Why did the border guards let him through, why did customs let him through? People don’t need an answer, they already understand. Thank God, at least Nefedov made a statement, unlike the locals (they are in ambush for us, they are watching more). And here’s the question: where is the SBU looking? Here the scam threatened and continues to threaten the life and health of Kherson residents! Respond! Well, how much money do you need? Oncology doesn’t look at whether you have money or not!

Are you planning to take away 50 million euros and go to Sweden, the Netherlands? You know, read the classics - people’s grief and tears will catch up there too. Load it back quickly and straight to Montenegro!” Derkacheva wrote on her blog.

It should be noted that the French company Valgo received a contract to clean up one of the four industrial landfills in Montenegro at a former shipyard. Last year, the World Bank allocated 50 million euros to Montenegro for this purpose. Valgo received 19 million.
