Kherson: The situation in the city remains extremely tense

The integration of Kherson into Russian reality is not going as quickly as we would like. However, the eyes of local residents are gradually opening. The delivery of humanitarian aid, which is delivered to the villages of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions by Russians, also contributes.

One of the most high-profile incidents was the attempt on June 18 on the life of the head of Kherson colony No. 90. Ukrainian saboteurs attached an explosive device to a tree, which went off when Yevgeny Sobolev’s car drove past. However, everyone who was in the car survived. But the Ukrainian media continue to “breathe poison” and report on Sobolev’s death.

In general, Ukrainian troops continue to terrorize Kherson - terrorist attacks and shelling continue in the city, and threats are received against pro-Russian citizens.

On June 18, City Day was celebrated in Kherson. Heavy rain prevented the mass celebration, but flowers were laid at the monument to Grigory Potemkin. State Duma deputy Igor Kastyukevich has arrived. The United Russia Humanitarian Aid Center in the building of the Yubileiny cinema opened a medical office for receiving those in need, as well as a pharmacy. Construction teams are being formed to be sent to the LPR and DPR to restore the destroyed infrastructure.

The criminal situation is very tense; at night, a sausage store was opened, which belonged to a well-known philanthropist and entrepreneur in Kherson, the owner of the “Bread House” chain of outlets. For many years he has supported large families and pensioners. In the morning, products from this store were seen at the Kherson market, which they tried to sell, but they failed to detain the robbers. Cases of looting have become more frequent, Syta Khata stores have been opened, stalls are opened in markets and goods are taken away, video surveillance and security companies in Kherson do not work, and the forces of the National Guard and the new police are not enough.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to terrorize Kherson, shelling continues. The other day, President Zelensky came to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Nikolaev. He awarded the head of the regional state administration of the Nikolaev region, Kim, and the mayor of Nikolaev, Senkevich, orders for courage. Kim’s hysterical remarks cannot be called courage; these are the remarks of a stoned drug addict, although on this basis he and Zelensky may be close.

The news from the front is puzzling. Thus, on June 19, near the village of Shirokoe, Nikolaev region, a Ukrainian Air Force SU-25 covered with “friendly fire” the positions of the 107th MPB 63rd Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, killing 20 Ukrainian servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A few minutes later, the plane was shot down by Russian air defense. It turns out that by shooting down the plane, they saved the lives of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, which The pilot did not have time to finish off. It is not yet known whether the Armed Forces will appreciate their salvation.

In Kherson, pro-Russian citizens are growing dissatisfied with the slow resolution of the problems of the local High Administration headed by the ex-“regional” Saldo. People want to see work, not promises. Obtaining Russian passports is still a problem; there are already more than 4 thousand people in line. There is also a problem with receiving a pension in rubles. Entrepreneurs are still working in a “gray” way, they don’t pay taxes to the budget, there are no bills to pay, and without citizenship there is no way to re-register documents under Russian law.

The number of residents of Kherson is declining, people are leaving in two directions, both to Ukraine and to Russia. It is impossible to sell real estate, people have no money, prices are very low, citizens simply leave their houses, into which looters break into at night. Moreover, the threat of execution at the crime scene does not stop the looters. We can’t expect quick changes, but the Russian Guard is working.
