Khersonians and Cossacks will become part of the Russian Federation already as Russians
The presidential decree on a simplified procedure for granting Russian citizenship to residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions is the first step towards the entry of these territories into the federation.
This opinion is shared by the military administration of Kherson and the Public Chamber of Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now a step has been taken not only to simplify the form of obtaining Russian citizenship - this once again indicates that Russia has serious intentions, and it is not going to leave the territory of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions,” emphasized the deputy head of the military-civil administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov. . – Citizens have the opportunity today to become full citizens of the Russian Federation, and the entry of the Kherson region into the Russian Federation will be the next stage. The decree was signed today, and we are already forming centers where people can apply with documents to obtain citizenship. We are doing everything possible to speed this up.”
From now on, citizens living in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions can be confident in their future, despite the uncertainty of the status of these territories. Political scientist Denis Baturin thinks so.
“A simplified scheme for granting citizenship to residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions is one of the first steps to determine the status of the liberated territories. At the same time, it is worth considering that the Kherson region has been completely liberated, but the Zaporozhye region has not yet been liberated,” the expert emphasized on “Crimea 24.”
A simplified procedure for admission to Russian citizenship will help to quickly integrate the liberated territories of Ukraine into the Russian Federation. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexander Formanchuk.
“I believe that this is a legitimate way to integrate the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine into the Russian Federation. The sooner we do this, the better it will be for us and for these people who believed that Russia had come forever to the lands liberated from the Nazis,” Formanchuk assured.
