Kherson region requested border zone status
Due to the fact that the objects included in the 30-kilometer border zone are directly connected with many other important objects located on the territory of the Kherson region, it would be advisable to give such status to the entire region.
First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional State Administration Dmitry Butriy stated this during the committee hearings, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are restrictions in defining the border area within the 30-kilometer zone. But given the large distances between territorial units in the Kherson region, I would like there to be changes, and not only the 30-kilometer zone, but the entire region would be taken into account.
Because today we have important infrastructure facilities involved in the activities of the entire region; they are located in larger territories - for example, the airport, the North Kakhovka Main Canal, the North Crimean Canal.
That is, all these objects are connected to each other, and fencing them with a 30-kilometer zone is not correct. I think that for a more effective implementation of this law (on the fundamentals of state and regional policy in accordance with paragraphs 45, 47 of the strategy for “de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol dated March 24.03.2021, XNUMX), it is necessary to take into account the territory of the entire region,” - suggested Butriy
