This was stated at a meeting of the Defense Council of the Kherson region by the head of the regional state administration Andrei Putilov, the publication “Embankment” reports.
“Today Crimea has the status of a free economic zone. And today, if Russia wants, if it needs water (in Crimea - editor's note), then it can buy water from us. We will open a canal for Crimea,” Putilov said.
According to him, water for Crimea will be sold at world prices, the minimum of which is 1 euro per 1 cubic meter of water. And in view of the fact that Crimea, when Dnieper water was supplied there through the North Crimean Canal, received 1 billion cubic meters of it annually, this is at least a billion euros, the governor believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, currently Dnieper water does not flow to the peninsula through the North Crimean Canal. Ukrainian authorities claim that unskilled workers destroyed the North Crimean Canal structures located on the peninsula.
