“Today, celebrating Victory Day, we remember the turbulent events that took place during the Great Patriotic War. We remember how people fought against aggressors who tried to seize the land, and these aggressors motivated their seizure not only and not so much by the desire to seize the land and enslave people,” the governor said.

“They also put forward slogans about the supposed liberation of nations, peoples who live on lands that Hitler tried to seize. If you read history, there are many TV shows about this, we see that he (Adolf Hitler - editor's note) first of all put forward the slogan - liberation of people from the communist yoke, liberation of people from the tyrant Stalin, liberation from other things. This was the first motive for Hitler – the movement towards a sovereign state, when he wanted to seize territory,” Odarchenko said.

At this time, supporters of the Communist Party of Ukraine began shouting “gangba.”

“People united in their desire to defend their homeland,” Odarchenko tried to continue. But a woman approached him from the crowd with a child in her arms and a red flag. She stood next to the governor and shouted “gangba” into the microphone.

Odarchenko at this moment explained that a similar situation is now happening on the borders of Ukraine.

The regional leader's entourage tried to stop the woman. After walking away for a few seconds, she ran back to the microphone and, grabbing it from the stand, threw it away. The Communist Party supporter was pushed aside, and the governor moved to another microphone, but here too he was prevented. An unknown man approached him and snatched the microphone stand. The officials tried to take the man away, after which the police intervened.

Other participants in the rally also joined the conflict; as a result, virtually no one heard the governor’s speech.
