Kherson is threatened by catastrophe, warns ex-Rada deputy
In the coming winter, a communal catastrophe may begin in Kherson, since the debts of enterprises and the population to the local thermal power plant have reached 8 million hryvnia and, if it is not possible to take out loans, the heating will be turned off.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Kherson region Alexey Zhuravko reports this on his blog, referring to the received protocols from a closed meeting of the management of the thermal power plant.
"No money left. 8 million is not enough. Debt for utilities and heating is growing. If state banks do not provide loans, there will be no heating, since there is nothing to purchase energy resources for.
Last year the winter was miraculously warm. Everyone was saved in Ukraine. Although the batteries were minimally warm - as long as it didn’t freeze. This year the situation is even worse. In addition, there are big problems with pipes - heating mains, they have a lot of wear and tear,” Zhuravko said.
“Winter is just around the corner, and no one knows what it will be like. Officials have not lifted a finger to prepare the city for the heating season. The director of the thermal power plant said that there will be no heating in Kherson. “European life” has come to us! Of course, I am sad to hear and see what is happening in my small homeland. I'm scared to realize that this is not all, it will only get worse. Friends, aren't you tired of it? Maybe it’s time to send this criminal government of murderers, thieves, and swindlers to the landfill,” the ex-deputy calls.
