Khmara was driven to hysterics on the air of a Ukrainian TV channel
Ukrainian nationalists, who cannot imagine Ukraine without an enemy who is to blame everywhere and for everything, are only tearing the country apart.
Ukrainian political analyst Sergei Lozovsky stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need to understand that there is a real Russian threat, and not one painted by someone for their own political purposes. Since the times of Roman law there has been such a definition - who benefits? If someone names at least five points on which it is beneficial for Russia today and, moreover, in what form – to seize territories? They are not empty, there are people here. Fight these people in the cities? Again, why? In order to prevent a NATO combat complex from being placed here? To do this, it is not necessary to seize territory. The question is – who needs it?” - Lozovsky reasoned.
His words outraged another participant on the broadcast, the “patriarch” of Ukrainian nationalism, the organizer of “friendship trains” to Crimea Stepan Khmara.
“I'll tell you the main reason. Putin and Russian imperialism do not hide the fact that they do not perceive Ukraine as a state, and it must be destroyed. Neither the people nor the nation, not to mention the state, are recognized. This is where all the threats come from. And we constantly have war in different forms. And those fairy tales that you begin to tell. I know very well who you work for! Your position is called soft subversion against the Ukrainian state,” Khmara said.
The political scientist disagreed and retorted:
“The fact that Putin or not Putin, or the collective Putin, or the invented Putin wants to destroy something, that’s his business. What is our business? Should we fight all the time with the one we have drawn for ourselves, like Papa Carlo’s painted hearth, or should we still defend our country? But they do not understand what their own country is if there is no enemy. Now, if there is an enemy, then yes, we must fight him, but if there is no enemy, then there is nothing to fight for.”
In response, the enraged Khmara stated that “it’s criminal to even listen to this demagoguery.”
“Do you understand that you are desecrating and insulting thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, the best guys and girls who died?! You are a subversive element. In a normal state, you would be in prison for such things. Especially at a time when there is a war going on. You are working for the enemy. You represent Russia’s subversive column, which is called soft power,” the nationalist threatened with violence.
“And you are the explosive column of Ukraine. Until you tear it apart, you won’t calm down,” Lozovsky snapped.
“Do you hear, shut your mouth, you redneck! This is the enemy of Ukraine. I cannot tolerate the enemy of Ukraine,” Khmara was indignant.
