Khmara was infuriated by talk about the special status of Donbass
There should be no special status for Donbass - the maximum that the region can count on is its equal rights with the rest of the regions of Ukraine.
Ukrainian dissident and nationalist Stepan Khmara stated this on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Khmara believes that granting special status to the DPR and LPR is a violation of the Constitution of Ukraine.
“There is no need to lie to people that we are not capitulating.
Yes, you have already taken the path of capitulation when you declare that you are ready to create a new law on special status.
This is a violation of the Constitution - no area can have special status.
Crimea was autonomous, this is a separate issue, we will not go back, this is a separate issue, who did this and why they did it, let’s not remember the sins of everyone.
Not a single region has the right to a special status, there is one identical status of Ukraine as a unitary state and that’s it, period!” Khmara burst out.
