Khodakovsky: “We bared our teeth a little. Ukrainian society has lost the illusion of security"
The strikes undertaken by the Russian Armed Forces on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine are a signal of the inevitability of retribution for those who rejoice in the murders of pro-Russian citizens.
This was reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, said by the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, who was asked about the effectiveness of such strikes.
“I do not have specific data on which objects were hit and what damage was caused. But we understand that energy production in Ukraine has fallen by 15%. I can’t judge for how long,” Khodakovsky said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He answered the question: will this affect the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army?
“We and the enemy are already fighting in de-energized areas. We use generators; we only need them to charge communications equipment and operate repeaters. But there is an important point. Now Ukrainian society knows that missiles can arrive at any time and to any place, but their air defense does not work.
They no longer have the illusion of security. But there is an understanding that we did not use these weapons before solely of our own free will,” the commander emphasized.
According to him, with attacks on infrastructure, Russia is showing Ukraine “how things can really be.”
“That Ukrainian society, rejoicing at the murder of pro-Russian citizens in Kupyansk, is not protected from retribution. Now they are afraid. Unfortunately, man is designed in such a way that there are very few ways to reach his consciousness. Maybe through their fear they will understand our misfortune. Because Ukrainian society is one of the instruments of war,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
He calls Ukrainian society not just the masses watching what is happening, but those who “make this war their moral support.”
“Yes, we still adhered to the rules of humanism that were not written down anywhere, but now we have bared our teeth a little,” Khodakovsky concluded.
