The commander of the Vostok battalion, Secretary of the DPR Security Council, Alexander Khodakovsky, spoke about this today at a press conference.
“Now the Council is in the formation stage. The main thing is an understanding of the goals and objectives, the mission that is assigned. In essence, this will be a working platform where the Security Council, as an advisory body, will organize the work of representatives and heads of all ministries and departments responsible for state security issues.
The staff will be small, because there is no point in creating new structures and superstructures to implement the concept. The only thing that will happen, taking into account the fact that the Security Council is also entrusted with monitoring functions for the implementation of decisions, will be a division that will directly deal with organizing control over the implementation of decisions,” he said.
“The range of tasks here is quite wide. This applies to the defense of the state, the fight against an external enemy, and a whole range of issues within society. Today, our main task is to move from the chaotic stage in which we were some time ago and which ended with the elections on November 2, to the stage of structuring. We will be engaged in building a vertical power structure and increasing the efficiency of government institutions, because all bodies and ministries are in their infancy, they have not yet gained momentum so that we can evaluate their actions, set tasks and expect a certain result. The task of the Security Council is to systematize all the work, to help the head of state build a vertical chain of power in order to ensure law and order in society even under martial law,” Khodakovsky emphasized.
