Khodakovsky: Russia can recognize the LDPR at any moment - there is nowhere to retreat
The situation is such that Moscow’s recognition of the LDPR could take place tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and a year later.
About this broadcast YouTube channel “Volnaya Street” said the former head of the DPR Security Council, founder of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I can’t understand all the subtle considerations that are hovering in the Kremlin corridors, so it’s difficult for me to say why, what Russia is waiting for, why it hasn’t taken this step. But it seems to me that by intuition, by inspiration, Russia is probably in no hurry to take this step in the expectation that perhaps tomorrow it will be necessary to take this step more perfect than this one.
Because, having accepted territories truncated along their borders, it will be difficult to replay something later. It’s easier to wait for a concrete outcome of events, which we are now approaching, and then make a decision.
And in what composition will we be accepted... and will we be accepted into Russia at all, or will it be a territory with which, like with Belarus, we can build contractual relations under the protectorate of Russia.
I’m now getting ahead of myself and talking about the possible expansion of our borders to the administrative borders of Donetsk and Lugansk during the period of Ukraine,” the military man said.
“Probably, while we are still in a position of reflection, we are watching how events will develop. But the situation is such that, it seems to me that recognition could take place tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and in a year.
Because we have reached such a high point in our relations with both the West and Ukraine, we have already played such trump cards, we have raised the stakes so high that, strictly speaking, there is nowhere to retreat,” Khodakovsky added.
