Khodaryonok: I am categorically against terrorist defense on the borders. Army only
The entry of UAF saboteurs into the Belgorod region shows that the only way to prevent such attacks can only be the transfer of territories under the control of the military.
Military expert Mikhail Khodarenok stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is the protection of state borders - this is the work of the border guards, there is defense - this is completely different, this is the work of the armed forces. Therefore, no national anti-terrorism committee should deal with this matter, it should be dealt with by a group of armed forces led by a combined arms commander, who, when involved, needs all types of both armed forces and branches of the military.
The governor of the Bryansk and Belgorod regions can only be a member of the military council of this group operating in this direction,” Khodarenok said.
At the same time, he expressed fundamental disagreement with the idea of creating a terrorist defense.
“I also have an unusually negative attitude towards the distribution of small arms to the population. This won't lead to anything good. Look for yourself, on the other side there are armored vehicles, tanks, heavy weapons. So what, tanks, armored vehicles, grenade launchers, and anti-tank systems need to be distributed to the population. There is no need for any unnecessary inventions here, this is a matter for the combined arms group, the combined arms commander, with participation in the part relating to all security forces, which should be subordinate to a single military leader,” the expert added.
