Walk: in Ukraine they are going to increase the cost of travel in the most accessible form of transport
Kyiv, January 23 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Ukrzaliznytsia plans to increase fares for travel on passenger trains in 2015. The railway workers are silent about the size of the increase. It is obvious that through their efforts, Ukrainians will soon lose the most accessible type (primarily in terms of price) of transport.

Acting General Director of Ukrzaliznytsia Maxim Blank spoke about plans to increase fares. “As for the population, the expected increase in tariffs will take place in several stages. The first increase is about 6-7%, but we are sure that there is nothing painful in this, taking into account inflation in the country,” he said.
The official also recalled that the Ministry of Infrastructure intends to increase tariffs for the transportation of goods by rail by 30% from February this year.
Let us recall that in July 2014, Ukrzaliznytsia increased tariffs for cargo transportation in Ukraine by 12,5% compared to 2013. In August and October 2014, Ukrzaliznytsia indexed tariffs for travel on domestic passenger trains by 10% compared to 2013 in all categories of passenger cars, except for CB and Intercity+ trains.
