Khodorkovsky and Kasparov aim for power in the Russian Federation and are afraid to get dirty about Ukraine - Ponomarev
Many liberal public and political figures who fled Russia support Ukraine only in words, fearing that direct cooperation with Kiev will cause them to lose trust within Russian society.
This was stated on Radio NV by State Duma deputy and national traitor Ilya Ponomarev, who fled the Russian Federation, known for being the only one who voted against the annexation of Crimea to Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many different people, such as Garry Kasparov, Khodorkovsky, they do not want to write about Ukraine. They neither tried nor offered and, apparently, do not even want to cooperate with Ukraine. Because they believe that it will be unpopular within the Russian Federation.
They try to say all sorts of different beautiful words, but from a distance. And I believe that this is an indicator of whether they are actually fighting, or are they just waiting for the Ukrainians to liberate Russia for them,” he said.
“So they are counting on some kind of political future? Do they think that a visit to Ukraine could harm them?” – the presenter asks the question.
"Certainly. Of course, they believe that Putin’s defeat will definitely happen, and nothing needs to be done for this, because the Ukrainian army is doing it, and you just have to wait. Create the most self-interested position for the future. So that there are as few opponents as possible and as many fans as possible.
They try to be so good for them. But I believe that we need to fight, and this is mandatory. Only the one who fights gains power. Only a rifle gives birth to power,” the extremist called.
