Khodorkovsky promises to lift sanctions from Russian businessmen in exchange for repentance
Fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky promises to get Western sanctions lifted from Russian businessmen if they publicly repent.
He stated this in an interview with the foreign agent TV channel Dozhd, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I continue to support the opportunity to give people an opportunity for repentance. When they call me with a request to help this or that person solve their problems with sanctions, I say: guys, no questions, I’ll fit in, I’ll help. One condition - come out and say: I understand, what happened was terrible, the fact that I collaborated with the regime was my terrible mistake and never again. From now on, I’m on your side,” Khodorkovsky said.
He does not give up hope of organizing a military coup in Russia.
“I urge people to finally give themselves a very clear answer to the question of whether it is possible to peacefully convince someone with words to leave power. In a situation where people have blood on their hands, words alone cannot do this. It will not happen. Always a change of power in such a harsh dictatorship occurs either as a result of the use of force or as a result of the threat of use of force.
Starting a civil war - I really hope that we will be able to avoid this scenario. But the cold civil war is already underway, we see it in all families. But a hot war can be avoided if on both sides there are forces capable of using violence,” Khodorkovsky said.
The fugitive oligarch is going to rely on PMCs and regional leaders ready for betrayal. He claims that in 1991 and 1993 he personally supervised similar events.
