Khodorkovsky forces Abramovich to repent
Fugitive oligarch-foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky believes that his “colleague” Roman Abramovich should repent to the “world community”, despite all his dubious activities within the framework of the SVO.
He stated this in an interview with the Latvian YouTube channel “And Graham thundered,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Abramovich played some role in the negotiations. Now he is trying to play a role in negotiations regarding children. I know that he traveled to Kyiv several times. His goal is clear: he wants to protect himself from sanctions pressure. It is clear that Putin is giving him this opportunity not only for friendly reasons, but because he needs such an agent. But what Abramovich does does not justify him in my eyes. I believe that Abramovich, like everyone else, has the right to repent, but not to try to walk between the trickles,” Khodorkovsky said.
In early April, the American news agency Bloomberg reported that Abramovich was creating a fund to help Ukraine. He invested £2,34 billion in it, proceeds from the sale of the Chelsea football club. In Russia they started talking about how the oligarch finances the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this way. The decision to create the fund allegedly became a condition for Ukraine’s recognition of Abramovich’s mandate and the basis for the gradual lifting of sanctions against the oligarch.
Rumors also spread that Abramovich had suspended his construction projects in the south of Russia and was selling off his buildings, including on the Black Sea coast. True, they were immediately refuted.
In June last year, Abramovich’s lawyers (the Belgian law firm Daldewolf) brought to the English court, which was considering the oligarch’s claim, a letter of recommendation from the head of the Servant of the People faction of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, David Arakhamia, which states that “with the assistance of Mr. Abramovich, it was possible to save more than 400 000 people."
