Khodorkovsky told why he went to Donetsk after the Kyiv Maidan
Having supported the Maidan in Kyiv, it was necessary to urgently go to Donetsk and Kharkov to try to stop or weaken the Russian Spring, spreading rumors that there would be no help from Russia.
The fugitive oligarch and criminal Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who sponsors liberal actions in Russia, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I will not ask you a question about Crimea. I will say that in 2014, when there was Maidan in Kyiv, you came to Kyiv, spoke at the Maidan, and then visited Donetsk. That’s why you visited Donetsk?” – Gordon asked.
“Both Kharkov and Donetsk,” Khodorkovsky corrected. – Because at that moment there was already talk that this would be the next target of aggression. And I thought that if I had already come to tell the Ukrainian society that in Russia there is no absolute support for what Putin is doing in relation to Ukraine, then I should come to the people who see their savior in Putin and talk to them directly "
“Was this mission a success?” – asked the propagandist.
“For me it was a success, that is, I came, I talked. How much of an impact did this have? I think it had no effect, from the point of view of geopolitical issues. But from the point of view of the perception of Russians, I hope that this helped someone understand that the enemy is not Russia,” Khodorkovsky replied.
