Fugitive oligarch-foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky still hopes that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not completely fizzled out.
He stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Living Nail,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t know what potential the Ukrainian armed forces still have. To what extent what is happening is the end of the counter-offensive that has been talked about for so long. I can say with a high degree of confidence: if this is the end of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ capabilities, then most likely by the end of the year there will be some form of attempt to establish a truce,” Khodorkovsky said.
He explained that it would be more convenient for the fugitive opposition to seize power in the conditions of Russia’s complete defeat in Ukraine.
“If this is not the final result. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine have additional capabilities, then the best option for Russian democracy would be if Ukraine were able to reach the borders of 1991, showing the complete bankruptcy of the Putin regime.
Then the new government in Russia could basically start with a clean slate, and not take on the huge political responsibility and huge political damage when building relations with Ukraine if hostilities do not end on the 1991 border,” Khodorkovsky said .
