The holding of a Ukrainian oligarch has become the largest supplier of chicken to the EU
The European Commission has published data on chicken supplies for 10 months of 2018. Ukraine is among the main suppliers to the EU countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the annual report of the European Commission.
European data indicates that Ukraine supplied 105 thousand tons of poultry meat during this period and took third place in the ranking of the largest exporters.
Brazil and Thailand are still ahead of Ukraine.
The countries exported 260 thousand tons and 254 thousand tons, respectively.
At the same time, the growth of Thai chicken exports to the EU was only 16,8%, while Brazilian chicken exports fell by 26%.
88% of Ukrainian chicken exports are provided by the Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) agricultural holding of oligarch Yuriy Kosyuk.
In general, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to the results of January-November 2018, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products reached 57,2 million tons.
