A good sign: In Crimea, a completely dry lake is being revived after winter rains
In Crimea, due to winter rains, the revival of a lake that completely dried up over the summer began, which is filled only by natural precipitation. The reservoir with the name “Three Sisters” is located in the Sunny Valley near Sudak.
Local photographer Alexander Kiryakov showed on his blog what the lake looked like in the heat and now, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Three Sisters Lake in Sun Valley comes to life. This is the same thing that was completely dry in the fall - this is what the winter life-giving rains do. There are no springs here. Only rain.. and there was no snow here yet. The chief agronomist of Solnechnaya Dolina spoke about this, and he is experienced and knows for sure. Once every few years, the lake dries up and is reborn again,” Kiryakov wrote.
Let us remind you that due to the blockade from Ukraine, as well as the dry summer Reservoirs in Crimea have dried up, feeding the Simferopol and Bakhchisarai regions, including cities. The authorities had to limit water supply and introduce schedules, as well as urgently organize transfer of water from other sources.
According to Senator Sergei Tsekov, the austerity regime may last on the peninsula for another two to three years, until water supply from reservoirs and wells is backed by desalination stations and alternative sources.
