Croatia fears for the fate of the Western Balkans
There is "serious potential for instability" in the Western Balkans, as the region is a "testing ground for geostrategic rivalry."
This was stated by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman after negotiations with his Bulgarian counterpart Teodora Genchovskaya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, in a certain sense there is still a serious potential for creating instability, given that the Western Balkans are in a sense a testing ground for various geostrategic rivalries,” Grlic Radman said.
He said that they agreed to do everything to ensure that “the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine do not spread to the Western Balkans and South-Eastern Europe.”
For her part, Genchovskaya highly appreciated the Bulgarian-Croatian cooperation within NATO and called this military bloc a guarantee of security in South-Eastern Europe.
