Croatian political scientist: Russian intelligence services have strengthened in Serbia
The new Serbian government will not take an anti-Russian position.
A representative of the pro-Western opposition, a member of the Serbian parliament, Alexander Olenik, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is clear that the new government will continue the flawed policy of sitting on two chairs. This will remove us from the EU, and we put ourselves behind the new Iron Curtain - in the society of North Korea, Iran, Russia and Belarus,” Olenik told Kommersant.
In turn, Croatian political scientist Vlado Vurušić is concerned that the key figure in the government is the leader of the Socialist Party, Ivica Dacic, who is considered a pro-Russian politician, who will become the first deputy prime minister, head Serbian diplomacy and coordinate the work of all the country’s intelligence services.
In addition, the expert is dissatisfied that the pro-Russian head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Vulin will take the post of head of the Security and Information Agency (BIA).
“The government will have a pro-Russian orientation. Everyone talks about Dacic as “Moscow’s player,” and Vulin’s move to BIA means that the Russian intelligence services, ironically, will always have up-to-date information about Serbia,” says Vurusic.
Previously President of Serbia announced the lineup a new government, which parliament must approve today.
