The “Croatian scenario” in Donbass will turn into “Ossetian” or “Abkhazian” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Legislative initiatives for the “reintegration of Donbass” announced by official Kiev serve only for propaganda purposes. Andrey Zolotarev, political scientist and head of the Third Sector analytical center, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The bill that Turchinov presented is, apparently, an attempt to seize the initiative, or even frame Pyotr Alekseevich on the eve of his visit to Washington. Turchinov's proposals were not accepted. Moreover, the president spoke about his interpretation of the de-occupation law. The bottom line is that there is no talk of real de-occupation and integration of Donbass. There are only two scenarios.
The first is military or, as it is fashionable to say, Croatian. But, as you know, politics is the art of the real, especially since the state of the armed forces is such that there is a risk that the Croatian scenario will turn into an Ossetian or Abkhazian one. Therefore, it remains for internal political discourse to warm up the patriotic mood of the audience.
Political scenario. It is clear that there is neither the will, nor the desire, nor the political resource to implement Minsk. Another question is that the situation will change in the fall after the elections in Germany. Let’s see what kind of pressure Merkel and Macron will resort to, to whom, apparently, the Ukrainian issue will be lowered, in order to force the reluctant President of Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements,” the expert said.
