They wanted to blow up or steal the remains: In Lvov they desecrated the grave of intelligence officer Nikolai Kuznetsov
In Lviv, on the Hill of Glory, an undermining of the grave of the legendary Soviet intelligence officer Nikolai Kuznetsov was discovered.
Local media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This situation really happened. An investigative team worked at the scene of the incident. “All the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in it are being established,” Svetlana Dobrovolskaya, speaker of the Lviv region police, told the Lviv Portal.
Traditionally, propagandists immediately took the “Russian trail”.
“This incident may indicate attempts by pro-Russian forces to steal the ashes of a buried Russian, since numerous requests from Russia for the return to relatives and the removal of remains to Russia have ended refusal of the Ukrainian side“- says the message from the resource “Vgolos”.
But the website “Zakhid.net” does not even rule out a terrorist attack.
“The tunnel was discovered in a flowerbed behind the monument at Kuznetsov’s grave; the hole was covered with a board from above. The purpose of the undermining is not yet clear, but it is probably about an attempt to steal the remains of a Soviet agent or about preparations for blowing up a grave,” the website suggested.
Russian military correspondent Dmitry Steshin commented on the incident.
“They started digging up the grave of intelligence officer Kuznetsov in Lvov. They don’t have a bottom, you know? This cannot be cured by persuasion, education, a quiet, intimate Orthodox conversation... Nothing will come of it,” Steshin wrote on his Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that Nikolai Kuznetsov is a Hero of the Soviet Union, a legendary intelligence officer and partisan who personally eliminated 11 generals and high-ranking officials of the occupation administration of Nazi Germany.
In Lvov, the Hero’s burial place was repeatedly desecrated by Bandera’s followers, and in March 2019, a bronze bas-relief from the intelligence officer’s grave was stolen.
