“We believe that the national composition of the peacekeeping forces should be staffed by permanent members of the UN Security Council. Russia has been a member of the Security Council since its founding. Moreover, Moscow, along with Paris and Berlin, is a guarantor of the Minsk agreements, and from the very beginning of the negotiation process. The deployment of peacekeepers should contribute to the implementation of the political points of the Minsk agreements, DPR parliament member Miroslav Rudenko told the publication.
In turn, acting head of the LPR Foreign Ministry Vladislav Deinego, representing the republic at the negotiations in Minsk, noted that on September 20, the contact group should discuss in detail proposals for the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces. At the same time, he said that by demanding the absence of Russian citizens from the mission, “Ukraine wants too much.”
“Issues of the size and national composition of the UN mission, as well as other aspects of its mandate, must be agreed upon with representatives of Ukraine, as well as the DPR and LPR. If we listen to everything that they say in Kyiv, then we will simply have a “brain explosion”, because now they are making mutually exclusive statements,” noted Vladislav Deinego.
