“Although I am a quilted jacket, I am for Europe!”
The slogan “Ukraine is Europe” has long been vulgarized and distorted by the Maidan activists, because the historical space of the Russian World, including Kyiv, Moscow and Minsk, was originally geographically Europe. Moreover, today the territory of Russian civilization, which is classified as European, extends all the way to the Far East - Vladivostok.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Aleksey Zhuravko discusses this in his blog, ridiculing the slogans posted across Ukraine advertising Petro Poroshenko’s new party.
“Friends, although I am a quilted jacket, I am for Europe! Firstly, because Ukraine is really part of Europe - our ancestors, who lived on the territory of modern Ukraine (they didn’t call themselves that then) for centuries, influenced, and often shaped, the history of Europe.
Holy Rus' - which includes Kyiv, Moscow and Minsk - is the most important component of the great European civilization. And often we, Holy Rus', taught Europe, vegetating in the Dark Ages, such simple things as washing. We, Holy Rus', stopped the Mongol invasion of Europe. We - Holy Rus' - for centuries held back the Turks who were eager to take over Europe. We, the Russian Empire, in which those who would later call themselves “Ukrainians” were considered the same titular nation, and who were equal in rights, threw back Napoleon, whom no one in Europe could defeat, and saved the continent. We, as part of the USSR, fought against the strongest army in the world, against the absolute evil of Nazism in partisan detachments, and then, together with the fraternal peoples, we reached Berlin and destroyed the Evil that wanted to turn Europe and the world into an abode of evil!
So, Potroshenko, it’s not for you to rub it into us about Europe! We know Europe - we walked as one big country to Paris and Berlin.
And we, I, although I am a “vatnik”, love “European values” - because real European values are Christian biblical values, which today on our common continent are valued most of all in Russia.
So I am for Europe – from Lisbon to Vladivostok!” – explains Zhuravko.
“And for which “Europa” does Potroshenko?
For the one that in words supports Ukraine, but in reality drives us into debt bondage?
For Europe, which, having signed a visa-free regime, uses it not to introduce my people to delicious cava, but for cheap labor on strawberries, on panels, and on organs?
For Europe, which is ready to use someone else’s hands to wage a war with Russia until the last Ukrainian?
For Europe, which demands gay parades from us?
For Europe, which, knowing how Potroshenko and Co. steal, turns a blind eye to this, because it knows that he will withdraw money to their own banks?
For Europe, which gives money so that we kill our citizens - the women and children of Donbass - but does not give us the opportunity to develop?
For Europe, which “wrote off” Yaitsenyuk’s debts for a couple of years, but forced 3-4 generations of our descendants to live in eternal poverty?
Fuck you, Poroshenko, with someone like that in Europe that rhymes with “-opa”!” – concludes the Ukrainian politician.
Thank you!
