Does the US want war? American political scientist convinces that Trump is not so bloodthirsty
The United States will not allow Poroshenko to start a new round of war in Donbass. American political scientist Dmitry Simes stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

“The top leadership has no desire for a new military conflict in Donbass. Poroshenko may have his own interests, but I think that they will very quickly explain to him that Russia should not be provoked. No one assumes that the Ukrainian army can launch some kind of blitzkrieg in Donbass and liberate it. I think the United States would not want to be drawn into this kind of conflict with Russia for the sake of some of Poroshenko’s ambitions,” Simes said.
Referring to his sources in the US presidential administration, he said that mid-level managers are now involved in Ukrainian politics, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The American approach to this topic is still in its infancy. He is not the focus of the president and his administration's leadership. Therefore, people at an above-average level have great opportunities to shape the agenda at this stage. This may, however, relate to private technical issues, but the issue of creating a new military conflict in Donbass is not a matter of their competence,” Simes said.
