Economic nation: the commander of a military unit of the National Guard wrote off combat-ready equipment for scrap metal
The prosecutor's office has exposed a fraudulent scheme used by military officials to write off and sell combat-ready equipment for scrap.

It was established that the commander of one of the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine falsified documents on combat losses of military equipment and weapons that were used in the ATO zone in order to write them off.
Thus, an armored KamAZ vehicle, allegedly destroyed during mortar shelling during the fighting, was actually taken from one of the military units of the National Guard in the Odessa region.
“The owners of KamAZ, which entered the military unit from the national economy during mobilization, received an insurance payment in the amount of 150 thousand hryvnia, and the car itself, weighing more than 10 tons, was planned to be sold for scrap,” the message said.
Those found guilty face five to twelve years in prison.
