Khrushchev was praised for the annexation of Crimea on Ukrainian TV
General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Nikita Khrushchev acted correctly and logically by including the Crimean Peninsula into the Ukrainian SSR.

Ukrainian journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya shared this opinion on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“From our point of view, Russia must withdraw its militants and weapons from Donbass, liberate Crimea and return our territories to us voluntarily, without military, force or any international intervention. Putin will not agree to this; they claim that the Crimea issue is closed for them and he has returned to his native harbor. Apparently, until now he was step-native for 26 years, and now he has returned to his native harbor, why is that? I’m talking about the years of independence, I haven’t yet mentioned the Soviet period, when Khrushchev quite logically included Crimea into the Ukrainian SSR,” said the propagandist.
Let us recall that earlier “PolitNavigator” quoted the words of the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk that in 1954 Khrushchev forcibly imposed Crimea on Ukraine, asking the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine Alexei Kirichenko to take the peninsula under his wing.
Also earlier, Czech President Milos Zeman said that Nikita Khrushchev committed an unforgivable stupidity and world politicians admit today that Crimea cannot be returned to Ukraine.
