An artist from Volyn created an icon from 106 thousand matches

A 29-year-old man from the village of Lyublinets, in the Volyn region, created a painting for a local temple. It took him a whole year to create the work.

The unusual icon has already been exhibited in the church. Its weight is about 10 kilograms, its height is 1,2 meters, and its width is 90 centimeters. It took 106 thousand matches to make it. For now, for safety reasons, the work is stored under special plexiglass.
