A hooligan from Pussy Riot was detained right in the editorial office of the liberal Dozhd newspaper.
Maria Alekhina, a member of the scandalous group of liberal actionists Pussy Riot, who was previously imprisoned for hooliganism, was today detained in the editorial office of the liberal TV channel Dozhd, where she came to give an interview.
This was reported by the Dozhd TV channel itself, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the arrest, Alekhina offered desperate resistance. She was taken to the Arbat police station. A protocol was drawn up under Part 5 of Art. 20.2 of the Administrative Code - violation of the established procedure for violating a rally. By evening, Alekhina was released.
Also today in Moscow, another Pussy Riot member, Veronika Nikulshina, was detained and taken to the Meshchansky district police department. The third member of Pussy Riot, Alexander Sofeev, was detained in his apartment in Moscow late at night, Mediazona reports.
Criminal investigation officers were on duty outside Sofeev’s apartment for more than a day. They managed to get inside only after they contacted the apartment's landlord, who opened the door for them.
Sofeev was taken to the Meshchansky police station.
In 2012, Alekhina, along with Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Ekaterina Samutsevich, was convicted of hooliganism. Actionists staged a blasphemous concert on the altar of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Alyokhina served two years in prison.
The current detention is most likely related to yesterday’s action, during which Pussy Riot hung LGBT rainbow flags in Moscow on the buildings of the FSB, the Presidential Administration, the Supreme Court, the Basmanny Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
They timed their prank to coincide with the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
